We are going to Budapest!
The day came and I could not be happier. James and I are visiting Budapest together. I have been waiting for this since we have been together. I know that this completely takes him out of his comfort zone and this makes this trip even more precious.
We woke up very early after going to bed very late because we needed to pack and clean the apartment, so we didn’t have to be ashamed when the neighbours who would look after the kids arrived I also had to charge the car because we were going to drive to the airport. I love my car, but charging Elektra is a headache. Apparently, other EV owners have the same idea that nighttime charging should be quieter. The first Pod Point was occupied, so went to the second one. The fast charging was occupied as well, so I had to resort to the slow one. At 10 PM it was time to return home. James was up and beanie, which was surprising at first because I expected him to be in bed snoozing. Bags packed, passports and meds secured we headed to bed for a few hours of slumber.
The alarm went off at 4:30 AM. Quick shower, protein shake and jumping in Elektra. James co-piloted us to Heathrow Airport Long Stay Car Park without hiccups. After leaving the car, we jumped on the bus that whisked us to the terminal. I forgot to mention that I was wearing a suit jacket, t-shirt, jeans and a pair of high-top Converse. I looked good! We had a quick breakfast, James popped the necessary pill to take the edge off and the boarding started already. Thanks to pre-selected seats we did not have to rush with boarding and the flight was delayed anyway. After some waiting on the tarmac, the aircraft finally took off and we were off to Budapest.
